Here Comes Peter Cottontail

I completely forgot I had bought this stamp last year, I'm so glad I stumbled across him in time for Easter. Nothing better than a bunny bum! I'll probably have these listed in my shop this weekend.

Dragonfly and an extra touch

A dragonfly pendant for your consideration, I added a few micro beads to give it some texture and interest. I do love how the background colors turned out, if you asked me which combination of inks I used to get that color I wouldn't have a clue!
I have some bunny pendants almost ready to go for Easter, I hope to show you tomorrow.

Experiment Deux

I love getting surprises when you work with clay, when you add inclusions you are never quite sure how it will turn out and I kinda love that.

This one was created with inks and embossing powder, a pretty peachy color with little granules of coral sprinkled on the surface.

Layered Pendant

I'm tickled with the results, the ink smeared on this one a bit so I may just keep it for myself instead of listing in my shop, pics are with and without my flash.

The others I did with this technique are just in different shapes & different colors with the stamped writing, the glaze isn't dry on those yet so I thought I'd just post this one for now.

The books they are breeding

As I was shuffling thru my new Donna Kato book last night, I glanced over at my stack of previously purchased clay books and realized just how many I have not put to use. So instead of working thru Donna's book I have decided to try one project out of each book and just work my way thru my stack. This is my plan, I do suck at the plans however but am going to try to follow thru with this one.

So as I'm letting the glaze dry on my last project I did, I just pulled a book blindly from my stack and next up is My Favorite Things in Polymer Clay a compilation by Donna Kato of some wonderful pc artists.

First off my mermaid met with an unfortunate accident courtesy of one of my kitties. Her services were held this weekend and we all mourn her passing. The background is still intact, so I'm starting on version 2.0 soon.

This weekend I picked up Donna Kato's book The Art of Polymer Clay Creative Surface Effects

Just a wonderful compilation of techniques, written in clear and easy to follow directions. I completed one of the projects this weekend (will post pics soon) and can't wait to delve into the many others.

Mermaid Part One

First off the sea background, not embellished with any plant life or sea creatures as of yet.

And now my little mermaid, which I haven't named yet. She needs her hair added and also to be antiqued. Also I suck at hands. Hee.

A thank you

I wanted to thank my customers that took part in my 2 for 1 sale for my vet bills. Thank you so much. Atticus got sick again Friday morning with labored breathing, he's been diagnosed with asthma and spent the night on oxygen. I have him back at home and took off today just to keep an eye on him. It's so hard to see something helpless so sick, and I thank you for all your kinds words.

My next project which I have been itching to do forever is a mermaid wall piece. I have about a dozen or so shadow boxes and I think I'm going to incorporate her in one of them. I hope to post progress pictures too, as I suck at the update.
